Runs quietly on the floor beside my bed. Just a gentle fan sound.
The unit has a soft fan hum — sounds just like a quiet air purifier or white noise machine. Doesn't bother me or my partner at all, actually helps drown out street noise.
Our upstairs bedroom holds heat even in the fall. Running the Ebbrest unit at 70W instead of blasting a portable AC unit all night is way quieter and cheaper.
Looked at Eight Sleep and Chilipad for months, just couldn't stomach paying $2,000+ plus a monthly app subscription to cool a bed. For $229 this does the exact one thing I needed: circulates cold water under my side of the sheet.
I was worried the hoses at the foot/side of the bed would be annoying, but we routed them down by the headboard beside the nightstand and you don't even see them.
It does cool the bed surface down, just manage your expectations — it's a 70W thermoelectric water cooler, not a compressor fridge. Keeps you from overheating, just doesn't get freezing cold if your room is already hot.
Very pleased with this purchase. Delivery took about 12 business days with tracking, everything arrived well packed, and it worked right out of the box.
Came with a free sheet of LED light blocking stickers in the box which was a nice touch — covered the display light right away since I like a pitch-black room.
Really like it so far. Hoses are about the right length if the unit sits on the floor next to the bed, might be tight if you have a very tall bed frame and want it far away.
Decent for the price. The fan hum is noticeable in a completely silent room (around 35-40 dB I'd guess), though you get used to it after a few nights like white noise.

One pad is 27.5 x 63 in (70 x 160 cm) and covers one side. For both sides, choose "Both sides": two pads and two units, each set on its own. Two pads need a Queen or wider: on a Full they do not fit side by side. The bed size guide in the footer shows each bed.
Does it warm as well as cool?
No. Ebbrest only cools: it runs cooled water through the pad under your sheet. It has no warming mode.
What does Ebbrest not do?
It does not cool the room: it changes the temperature of the bed surface on one side. It is not an air conditioner and it is not a medical device.
